Water

Roosevelt City provides water to over 1,500 residents and businesses. Water is pumped from 5 Hayden wells in an 80 acre area near Neola, UT. All wells pump into a 300,00 gallon stroage tank where gravity flow takes over to get the water into town.

All water is treated with chlorine to make it safe and of high quality. Roosevelt has 4,800,000 gallons of storage capacity at five different tanks. Water is cycled through the tanks on an average of two to four days. Extensive water testing is done on a monthly basis. All wells and tanks are visually checked at least every other day and are monitored 24 hours a day by a computer radio system.

Sewer

A four lagoon treatment system is utilized by Roosevelt City. It was constructed in 1976 and has been in perfect operation ever since. It has a design capacity for 12,000 people but is currently using about half of that total capacity. All treatment is natural and no chemicals are used. The treated water from the three treatment lagoons are discharged into a fresh water lagoon. The water from this lagoon or pond is then pumped onto adjacent farm fields. Alfalfa hay is grown on the farm and enough money is made to recover the costs of irrigation. It is an innovative way for the city to re-use the waste water while being enviromentally friendly.

Garbage

Garbage service is available through the city. Roosevelt contracts with K&K Sanitation to handle all residental and business garbage service. The city is divided into sections and all garbage is picked up Monday thru Thursday. Your garbage pickup day will depend on where you live. Questions?
