U.S. 40 is reduced to one lane in each direction from 6250 South to Ioka Junction to provide space for crews to work and for trucks to enter/exit the construction zone. In addition, the highway is scheduled to be reduced to one lane in each direction near Pole Line Road beginning as early as Monday, June 12.
The speed limit has been reduced to 55 miles per hour through the entire work zone.

6250 South to 4000 South – Crews continue placing material that will form the base for the new pavement. A new water line is being installed west of the highway near Cobble Hollow Road.
4000 South to Ioka Junction – Earthwork continues on the east side of the highway to level out and compact the area where the future eastbound lanes will be built. Crews have also begun to bring in material for the base of the future lanes.
Ioka Junction to Pole Line Road – Earthwork has begun in this area as crews are using heavy equipment to dig up the existing soil for the future lanes. Some utility work also continues in this section of the project.
